Arusha

Arusha is the starting point for most safaris in Tanzania. Lying on the gentling rolling foothills that cascade down from the ever-present Mount Meru is the bustling and vibrant town of Arusha. Arusha's outskirts is filled with Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations, a perfect haven for relaxation.

Privacy verklaring

Lake Manyara

Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania’s smaller game parks and its a bird paradise, with more than 380 registered species. Its forests are the best place on earth to spot leopards. The majority of the land area of the park is a narrow strip running between the Gregory Rift wall to the West and Lake Manyara, an alkaline/soda lake to the East. The park is also famous for its population of flamingoes and tree-climbing lions.

Lake Tanganyka

Lake Tanganyika is surrounded by the mountainous walls of Mahale. It is the second largest lake in the African continent and the deepest lake in Africa. It stretches from north to south about 673 kilometers and an average of 50 kilometers wide and the deepest point is 1,500 meters. The lake is divided among four countries – Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi, and Zambia, with Tanzania (46%) and the DRC (40%) possessing the majority of the lake. The water flows into the Congo River system and ultimately into the Atlantic Ocean.

Horseback safari in Tanzania

A horseback safari in Tanzania is a nice opportunity to see game and interact with wild animals from a close distance! Imagine huge herds of wildebeest and zebra extend as far as your eyes can see! On a horseback safari in Tanzania you get the chance to make your way down a narrow gorge to discover a lush valley filled with wildlife. These and many different unique experiences come along with a horseback safari that you would not experience on a regular safari.

Mafia Island

Mafia Island is the southernmost of the three major islands off the coast of Tanzania. It is about 20 km. long and 8 km. wide and is a true natural paradise.

Chimpansee Tracking in Tanzania

Tanzania's Gombe National Park is located on the huge Lake Tanganyika. This is where Dr. Jane Goodall once started her research on chimpansees. Today it is possible to see the chimps in the wild here and also to join the research team of the Jane Goodall Research Institute who are still active in this area. It is also possible to track gorillas and chimpansees in Uganda.

Kanoën in Arusha

Zanzibar

The Zanzibar Archipelago is as mystic, beautiful and serene today as it has been for centuries. Zanzibar, a happy mix of Africa and Arabia; Noel Coward sang about it in the 1930s, Dr. Livingstone used it as an expedition base and it was the birth place of Freddy Mercury. The turquoise waters and white sands with the sun glinting off tin roofed residences.

Balloon flight safari in Tanzania

For the adventure of a lifetime we offer the unique experience of a Balloon Safari over the plains, forest and river of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, famous for its abundance of wildlife throughout the year. Lions, Elephants, Buffalo, Hippos, Crocodiles and prolific numbers of plains game are regularly seen, as are the countless species of Birds both in flight and atop their lofty perches in the trees. The annual migration of the Wildebeest from July to October is a sight that, viewed from the vantage point of a Balloon is never to be forgotten.

Nyerere (formerly Selous)

Nyerere Game Reserve (formerly Selous) is the largest protected area in Africa; the reserve has a total area of 50,000 km2. And it breathes an atmosphere of timeless Africa. Nyerere has the largest buffalo concentration of the African continent and more than half of the Tanzanian elephants live in this reserve.

Ruaha

Ruaha with its size of 12,950 km slightly smaller than the Serengeti National Park, but differs in its pristine and wild character. The Kizigio and Rungwa River Game Reserves are located in the north of Ruaha and form a conservancy of about 26,500 km, one of the largest in East Africa.

Night game drive in Tanzania

See another side of Tanzania on a night game drive. It is an amazing experience to spot animals such as porcupines, genets and civet cats, leopards, hippos, to name a few. Listening to the night sounds and learning more about the African stars is also a lovely dimension to your night game drive in Tanzania. Night Game Drives in Tanzania are held just outside the park gates at the Serengeti and Tarangire. Lake Manyara is the only place where Night Game Drives are allowed inside the park.

Ngorongoro

One of the wonders of the world, it is difficult to give a fair description to the enormity and beauty of the Ngorongoro Crater. There is no comparison, if only the Garden of Eden! A steep wall of thick forest surrounds the circumference, which looks like a natural amphitheatre 260 km2 in size. An incredible ecosystem consisting of grasslands, swamps, lakes, rivers, woodlands, forests and an arid area of shifting dunes exists here, and thus the crater is able to sustain a vast resident population of game including elephant, buffalo, lion, hippo, wildebeest, gazelle, leopard, black Rhino, monkeys and hyena.

Walking safari in Tanzania

One of the most exciting activities during your safari in Tanzania is definitely a game walk. A game walk is in Tanzania a chance like no other to feel every vibration, smell all the aromas and see the African animals from a few feet distance. During a game walk safari in Tanzania you will be under constant protection of armed and experienced rangers.

Mount Kilimanjaro

Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and is ranked in the so-called "seven summits". Kilimanjaro means the Mountain of Light, its name derives from the eternal snow layer at the top. The mountain extends more than 5 miles above its surroundings and is the highest freestanding mountain in the world.

Serengeti

Serengeti National Park is widely regarded as the best wildlife reserve in Africa due to its density of predators and prey. It is most famous for its annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeest and 250,000 zebra. The Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest national park and remains the flagship for tourism today, along with other Northern circuit game parks.

African Road Trip

Ethiopian dances

And finally, emerge yourself in the Ethiopian culture and visit a traditional restaurant, bar or club and dance along the semi-terrible, semi-genial Ethiopian music! When in Axum and Bahar Dar, just ask about a traditional bar and emerge yourself in this beautiful ritual.

Visit the source of the Nile in Bahar Dar

Right, the Blue Nile is only half of the Nile (the other half, the White Nile, starts in Jinja, Uganda), but still.... a visit to the source of the most famous river in the world, is without doubt one of the best things you can do while you are in Ethiopia. From Bahar Dar, it is easy to get to the waterfalls that mark the source of the Blue Nile. You can that a walk there, or rent a little boat to see the falls up close.

Obelisks of Axum

Learn about this old almost forgotten civilization. Ethiopia was once one of the great world powers on earth. Comparable to the Roman, Greek and Persion civilizations. Their power reached as far as the Red Sea, Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. Even coins and written language was used in this empire!

Walk to the Abuna Tigray churces, Yemata

At the top of the Yemata mountain range, there is a small cave chapel, on a rocky cliff. When you don't have fear of heights, the steep climb up this religious outpots is an absolute highlight of Ethiopia! The chapel is strewn with paintings and the whole forms a spectecular and mesmerizing spectacle. The Tigray church is without a doubt one of the most secluded churches in the world and no doubt the steep climb is part, if not, half of the experience, but the view on top is absolutely enchanting.

Visit Camelot of Africa

It is not just natural wonders in Ethiopia. This country has several unique cultural sights and one of those is the Royal Enclosure in Gondar. Known as the Camelot of Africa Gondar houses many Middle Age castles that can be found in the center of the city and they look absolutely amazing. You can wander around the ruines and imagine being back in the days where horses roamed the inner city, where wine was drunk from wine chalices, music plaid from balconies and from enormous banquet halls.

Sunset at Lake Asale, the Danakil Depression

When in Danakil, it is very worthwhile to wait for sunset! At Lake Asala you can see camels with salt rocks, making their way alongside the christal salt lake. At the end of the day the sky turns red as fire and you are witness to a unique and utterly special sunset!

Erta Ale vulcano and the Danakil-depression

Situated in the Danakil Depression, is the Erta Ale-vulcano. This 2011 meter high, constantly active basalt shield vulcano, is also called "Smoking Mountain" by the Afar or "the gateway to hell". It is one of the few active vulcanoes in the world and one of five with lakes filled with lava, and Erta Ales even has two lakes, which makes it a unique sight!

Spot Gelada-baboons in the Simien mountains

Absolutely unique in Ethiopia is spotting the endemic Gelada baboons. Also known as bleeding heart monkeys, due to the extraordinary bloodred colour on their chest, this species is endemic to Ethopia. In fact, endemic to the Simien mountains only! This park is on the UNESCO list and not only offers amazing hiking options with stunning views, but seeing the huge groups of Gelada baboons is a unique experience.

Feeding wild hyenas in Harar

This is one of the most exceptional things you can do while in Ethiopia. In Harar, in the Eastern part, you can feed wild hyenas. We are not talking throwing a piece of meat to a hyena... No we are talking feeding them with a piece of meat that is dangling from a stick, between your teeth!!

Danakil Depression

Situated in the Northern part of the Afar triangle (or Afar depression), the Danakil depression is one of the lowest geological hightlights on earth, as it is situated 100 meters below sealevel. This is the hottest place on earth. The Awash river dries up and forms some salt lakes. Futhermore there are the Dallol hotsprings to be found here. A lot of research has been done as to how life can have developed, and archeologists have been looking for fossils of humanoids here.

Axum

Axum is the other 'must-see' on the historical route. The city is the former capital of the Axumite-empire, once a great trading power in North Africa that reached up to Eritrea, Sudan, Egypt, Jemen and Saudi Arabia. The ruins of this great empire are still visible. High obelisks, ruined churches and other buildings. One assumes that this was once of the seat of the queen of Sheba.

Lalibela

This city in the North of Ethiopia is a 'must-see'on every single route and an important highlight of Ethiopia.

It is known for its monolitical, rock hewn churches dating from the 12th century. The layout of the city is considered to be a display of Jerusalem and is one of the holiest cities of Ethiopia and a place of pilgrimage to the local population.

Simien Mountains

This mountain range is known as the rooftop of Africa and is one of the biggest in the whole of Africa, it was proclaimed a UNESCO heritage site in 1979. The dramatic mountainous area is the habitat of many endemic animals, such as the Gelada baboon, the Walia Steenbok, and Etiopian fox. There are more than a dozen peaks of more than 3600 meters and hikers can do a day's trek in the Sanqaber along the steep and high peaks or do a multiple day trek of the Simiens to the Bwahit peak.

Gondar

Gondar is a historical town and was once the royal captial of Ethiopia. One can find many ruins of castles and churches here. The picturesque ruins of Fassil Ghebbi (the royal enclosure) were once palaces of emperors and castles of Fasilides. Gondor is also starting point of most treks into the Simien Mountains.

Addis Ababa

Addis is the capital and houses almost four million inhabitants. It holds the status of city as well as that of state and is the seat of the African Union.

It is often called the political capital of Africa and is a vibrant city with both traditional as hip restaurants and bars, live music, bazaars, and lots of events. During the day you can visit interesting museums.

Arba Minch

Situated on the West side of the Great Rift Valley, Arba Minch is the gateway to Nechisar National Park and the Omo-valley. The area is known for its fishing nursaries and diversity in fruits. Visitors can pass time in a local village or go to the Chamo-lake. Be careful though, as the lake is full of crocodiles!

Bahir Dar

Situated at the southern tip of Tana Lake, the source of the Blue Nile, Bahar Dir is a much used stop on most of the historic routes. It is a beautiful African city with colorful markets and restaurants with a hospitable atmosphere. From Bahar Dir you can visit the scenic Blue Nile Falls in the countryside or you can visit the old churches and monasteries on the islands in Lake Tana.

Bale Mountains

Also knows as the Urgoma mountains, the Bale mountains are part of the Ethiopian highlands Northeast of Addis. The Bale mountains National Park houses one of the highest percentages of endemic animals in the world. It is a stunningly wild mountainous area with an enormous diversity of mammals and birds. There are Ethiopian wolves for instance, as are Nyala, Bushbucks, lions, leopards and a variety of bucks. We strongly recommend to put these mountains into your itinerary.

Zambezi National Park

Low Zambezi National Park is located downstream of the Kariba Lake and opposite the Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe. This is one of the newest parks in Zambia, but the beauty of this park is the absolute wilderness. Despite the fact that the variety and quantity of wildlife is not as great as in other parks, there are spectacular opportunities to come within touching distance of the animals wandering through the Zambezi channels. The slope along the northern side of the park serves as a barrier for most of the animals, keeping them in the park.

Kalahari Desert

The Kalahari Desert is one of the oldest places on earth. It rains a lot, for desert standards at least, which allows flora and fauna thriving in this desert. The Bushmen, the original inhabitants of the Kalahari, call the Kalahari the "soul of the world."  With deep red sand dunes and endless grassy plains, the desert is a source of life. A special place is the Kuruman Kalahari, where you will find a large spring nicknamed ''the eye''. To the north lies the gigantic Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, with impressive red landscapes and a huge diversity in wildlife.

Damaraland

Damaraland is a fascinating area full of rock formations, dry beds and blue skies. The landscape is characterized by rocks and acacia trees. Damaraland is a desert area that extends from Etosha to Sossusfontein. Mountain peaks dominate the landscape like the Spitzkoppe in the south and the Brandberg near Uis. The main attraction of Damaraland is Twyfelfontein, the valley where ancient petroglyphs have been found. Malawi’s Zomba Plateau is unique. A great slab of a mountain standing at 1,800 m (6,000ft), and with peaks topping 2,000 m, it has vast tracts of cedar, pine and cypress but elsewhere the vegetation is wild and mixed. On three sides, the plateau has scarp-like edges descending from its outer rim of peaks that surround a central depression. As well as the forests, the plateau top is criss-crossed by streams and there are tumbling waterfalls and still lakes. There are roads right round the top which give access to viewpoints that offer vistas of such splendour that they were described in colonial times as “the best views in the British Empire”.

In South Malawi, between Blantyre and Mount Mulanje, are the Thyolo (pronounced “Cho’lo”) tea estates. The amazing success story of recovery and restoration and the continued protection of endangered species have led Majete to become one of the most popular reserves in Malawi for wildlife and safaris. Majete lies in the Lower Shire Valley in the South West of Malawi.

Majete was once a prolific wildlife refuge but by the late 1990’s most species of large game, including elephant, had been eradicated. Remnant populations of a few resilient species remained but they had been reduced to very low, and in some cases critical numbers.

Liwonde National Park

Liwonde National Park is the home of incredible wildlife translocations and reintroductions, which has seen predators restored to the park for the first time in two decades. Situated in southern Malawi, ancient baobabs and lofty borassus palms preside over Liwonde’s small yet vibrant landscape of dense woodlands, lagoons and fertile floodplains. While having sustained high levels of poaching over the past few decades, this still productive ecosystem, sustaining over 400 species of birds, the largest elephant population in the country and a flourishing population of plains game mammals, is poised for the reintroduction of large predators. The restoration of key species and historic levels of biodiversity is re-establishing Liwonde as one of the country’s iconic wilderness areas.

Lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles and prolific numbers of plains game are regularly seen, as are the countless species of birds both in flight and atop their lofty perches in the trees.  The annual migration of the wildebeest  & zebras from July to October is a sight that, viewed from the vantage point of a balloon is never to be forgotten.

The Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras

The migration over the months of September and October of thousands of wildebeest and zebras is a unique sight and experience. Zebra and wildebeest are always on the lookout for green grass and this green grass of course depends on the rains. Predators follow the heards, which makes for spectecular game viewing!

Watamu

Watamu is known for its vast white beaches and coral reefs, which are a protected area within the Watamu National Marine Park. This beautiful coastal town was voted one of the ten most beautiful beach towns in the world. At low tide there are many pools that can be explored filled with breathtaking marine life. At Watamu you will find whale sharks, sea turtles, manta rays, lionfish and brightly colored crabs. Because the saltwater creek borders mangroves, there is also plenty of opportunity for bird watching and canoeing between astonishing vegetation.

Tsavo

The combined parks of Tsavo East and Tsavo West together form one of Africa’s largest nature reserves. Tsavo consists of 10 million acres of pure wilderness, savannas, several mountains and hills, acacia woodland and a large river sy0stem. The sheer size of Tsavo offers you  a chance to escape reality and explore the wilderness of Tsavo in total isolation.

Shaba National Park

Shaba is a relatively small reserve between Samburu and Mount Kenya. This park is well-known due to celebrity writer Joy Adams and her lioness Elsa.
Shaba, Buffalo Springs and Samburu form a large nature reserve in the remote parts of northern Kenya. In this unique habitat where northern and southern animals live together you will find a number of rare species, including the Gerenuk, Somalia ostrich and endangered Grevy Zebra.

Samburu National Park

With its stunning wildlife and picturesque surroundings, it is a real surprise that Samburu National Park remains one of the less visited areas of Kenya. Samburu is different from the more famous parks in Kenya because of its soothing atmosphere and authentic wildlife experience.  A visit to Samburu ensures a beautiful addition to your safari in Kenya.

Nairobi

Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, is a very energetic city and the largest in East Africa. Your safari in Kenya will generally start and finish in this city.

Meru National Park

Meru National Park is unspoilt and breathtakingly beautiful. The park is straddling the equator, and is crossed by thirteen rivers which originate from numerous mountains.

Masai Mara

Masai Mara offers an absolutely unique variety of animals. The reason is that this hilly region is both humid and fertile, and is crossed by the rivers Mara and Talek, full of crocodiles and hippos, which carry water the whole year round. The banks of the rivers are covered in thick forest, which gradually makes way for bush and grassland. The abundance of water and excellent availability of food are the reasons why the Masai Mara, which in fact is a continuance of the Tanzanian Serengeti National Park, has the greatest population of wild animals in the whole of Africa.

Malindi

Malindi, after Mombasa, is the second largest city on the Kenyan coast. Due to the vast sandy beaches, palm trees and protected coral reefs of Malindi Marine National Park Malindi is a popular beach destination.
The town also reveals the various historical influences of Arab traders, Portuguese Explorers, European settlers and Indian immigrants. Malindi is one of the few beach destinations with a cozy village. There are nice shops and good restaurants to be found in Malindi making it a nice addition to your safari in Kenya.

Lewa Wilderness Conservancy

North of Mount Kenya lies Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, a protected area of 55,000 acres. As a result of poaching in the 80s, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy was founded. Ever since, wild life population has grown tremendously, including many protected species. In Lewa you will have a chance to see the protected white and black rhino, Grevy zebras, lions, leopards, elephants and beautiful bird populations. In Lewa, you will find two important archaeological areas, where hand axes a million years old can be found as well as a pastoral cave.

Lamu

Lamu is an island that has no equal. It is a peaceful tropical island where life takes its own pace. All transport on the island is done by mule and because there are no cars on the island Lamu has a soothing atmosphere. The only way to reach this island is by traditional dhow, the traditional transport on the sea around the island. Visitors will be enchanted by the beauty of this historic island when they walk through the streets that bring you straight back into the Middle Ages.

Lake Victoria

Lake Victoria is the second largest freshwater lake in the world and dominates the geographic area of 70,000 square kilometers. Despite its huge size, this murky lake is not so deep, only 100 meters at its deepest point. A safari in the area of Lake Victoria is an unforgettable experience.

Lake Nakuru

Lake Nakuru is located in the Rift Valley and is especially famous for its flamingo spectacle. More than one million flamingos live around this lake, which makes for a beautiful sight. But also more than 400 different species of birds (including pelicans) migrate through Lake Nakuru. The area around the lake is also habitat of lions, rhino, giraffe, buffalo, gazelles and the rare leopard.

Lake Naivasha

Lake Naivasha is one of the two freshwater lakes in the Rift Valley. This large shallow lake has a unique history. In the early 20’s Lake Naivasha had dried completely and brought back to life a few years later through heavy rains. While the lake looks beautiful and peaceful during day time, the water at the end of the afternoon triggered by heavy rainfall is usually full of dramatic waves. The lake’s name emphasizes this. The locals, the Maasai, had named the lake Na’iposha, meaning wild waters. The British later spelled this incorrectly as Naivasha.

Lake Baringo

Lake Baringo is located in the remote desert area of the Rift Valley, an oasis of calm and beauty in the rough, dry, yet magical landscape. Because it is a freshwater lake, Lake Baringo is a habitat for crocodiles and hippos, as well as more than 400 different species of birds including the giant Kenyan osprey. It is an enchanting lake with a number of small islands that can be reached by boat. Because the 130-square-kilometer lake is so remote, it’s not touristy. So it is really off the beaten track and a lovely addition to your safari in Kenya.

Laikipia

Laikipia is a remote and pristine nature reserve in Kenya. There is a huge variety in wildlife in a spectacular setting. Two rivers, the Ewaso Narok and Ewaso Ng’iro, flow through the landscape. These rivers also attract a lot of wildlife, including the largest elephant populations in Kenya.

Diani Beach

The South Coast of Kenya is a tropical paradise of white sand beaches stretched with palm trees, where the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean come together with beautiful coral reefs. The protected reefs have created perfect beaches with calm waters for you to enjoy a bit of relaxation during your safari in Kenya.

Amboseli National Park

Amboseli is renowned for its elephant populations and large herds, including some impressively tusked bulls which are drawn to a series of large, lush swamplands. This area is home to many Masai communities, centered around the Amboseli National Park. It is 400 sq kms, with its southern boundary along the Tanzanian border. Here you may have the opportunity to observe herds of wildebeest, zebra and impala graze on the open plains. There are areas of acacia forest that make for good birding and are home to many small mammals. Cheetah is also often sighted here.

Night game drive in Botswana

Night game drives in Botswana provide for some of the most dramatic and unusual sightings, this is an activity that you will remember for the rest of your life! A night game drive in Botswana is a time when our ancient fears rise to the surface, a time when our DNA shudders to the thought of when we were part of the natural world and were considered easy prey, but today we can experience the dramas of the night from the safety of a safari vehicle.

Victoria Falls

The Victoria Falls is one of the world’s most beautiful and romantic places. This protected World Heritage site is one of the few waterfalls in the world where one can see close to 550 million liters of water coming down from such a close range. Due to the force of the water that flows down the spray of water reaches an incredible height of 30 km.

Technically the falls are situated at the borders of Zimbabwe and Zambia, but they are often combined with a safari in Botswana.

Tuli Block

Spread along approximately eighty thousand hectares, is a long and thin fringe of land demarcating Botswana’s south-eastern border from South Africa, called the Tuli Block. The Eastern side has been declared as the Northern Tuli Game Reserve while the rest of the vast area contains a lot of privately owned game farms.

You can combine Tuli Block on a South African self-drive itinerary very well, from Johannesburg it is about 6,5 hours drive.

Savuti National Park

In the southern part of Chobe National Park lies the Savuti region, known for its lions and hyenas. On the border of Namibia lies the Linyati region best known for its large elephants population that come together in the winter months in this area.
The area is known to have many excellent cat sightings! So if you are particularly eager to spot lions and leopards, come to the Savuti or Linyanti!

Okavango Delta

The Okavango Delta is one of the world’s largest inland deltas situated in the middle of the largest stretch of continuous sand in the world – the Kalahari basin. This oasis in the middle of the desert is a rich yet fragile ecosystem, providing a life source for an incredible variety of wildlife. A wealth of species have adapted to the contrasting conditions created by living in the harsh Kalahari desert which is transformed annually with the arrival of the delta flood waters originating in Angola.

Nxai Pan National Park

Although Nxai Pan was also once part of the great super lake, it is quite different in character to the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. It consists of a series of grass covered fossil pans dotted with islands of umbrella acacia, supporting a good variety and density of game and birdlife. This is one of the few places that springbok and impala cohabit. In the drier months, the desert landscape is dry and harsh. Game viewing at the waterhole is excellent where you may observe lion, cheetah, spotted and brown hyena, zebra, giraffe, kudu, and hartebeest, bat eared fox, jackal and sometimes wild dog and elephant.

Makgadikgadi

The network of salt pans found in Botswana’s eastern regions are a striking physical feature and some of the largest of their kind in the world. The pans, huge, flat expanses of hot, sun-blasted terrain and fringed by vegetated islands and peninsulas, were once part of a great super lake that covered much of northern Botswana.

Linyanti

The Linyanti area lies to the north-east of the Okavango Delta were the Kwando and Linyanti rivers meet at right angles, forming a swamp area within this triangle. The area’s relative remoteness makes it a favoured safari destination. The wildlife in the Linyanti is spectacular and the region is famous for its enormous herds of elephant and buffalo which move down to the Linyanti area at the start of the winter months and only move back inland once the summer rains arrive in November.

Honeymoon safari in Botswana

A honeymoon in Botswana is without a doubt one of the best experiences you and your love can hope for. It is hard to get any more romantic than this: luxury and boutique camps in the African wilderness, a special bush dinner or a warm bath under the African sky. Lots of privacy and an safari experience that you two will never forget!

Highlights Botswana

Chobe National Park

The Chobe River Front is a remarkable wildlife area due to the permanent water source of the Chobe River. However its accessibility from Kasane and neighbouring towns of Victoria Falls and Livingstone has created quite a busy tourist area with larger hotels and lodges than you find in the more remote Okavango Delta and Savuti/Linyanti areas. The spectacle of all the animals coming to drink and frolic at the water’s edge is one to behold, particularly in the dry season (May – Oct) when water is scarce away from the river.
