Full Board.<\/h4>\n<p>Bij aankomst in Dar es Salaam wordt u ontvangen door onze vertegenwoordiger en naar Selous gebracht alwaar u kunt genieten van uw eerste safari\u2026per boot!<\/p>\n<p>Selous National Park, vernoemd naar Frederick Courtenay Selous, is het grootste beschermde gebied van Afrika. Het reservaat heeft een totale oppervlakte van 50.000 km2. Het is een reservaat met een sfeer van het tijdloze Afrika. Hier is de grootste buffelconcentratie van heel Afrika te vinden en meer dan de helft van de Tanzaniaanse olifanten leven in dit reservaat. Het gebied omvat gevarieerde soorten landschappen, waaronder vulkanische bronnen, meren, de Rhaha en Rufiji rivieren, savanne, bosland, grasland en vlaktes. Wildlife dat u hier tegenkomst zijn o.a. nijlpaarden, neushoorns, buffels, hartebeesten, kudu\u2019s, sabelantilopen, elandantilopen, reedbucks, bushbucks, wrattenzwijnen, zebra\u2019s, giraffen, wildebeesten en uiteraard roofdieren zoals leeuwen, luipaarden en hyena\u2019s. Er zijn ongeveer 440 vogelsoorten en reptielen te vinden waaronder krokodillen, diverse soorten slangen en hagedissen en in het reservaat groeien ruim 2000 verschillende planten en bloemensoorten.<\/p>\n<p>Jimbiza Lodge ligt op een prachtige lokatie in Selous op zo\u2019n vier km. van Mtemere Gate. Dit is een hele andere ervaring dan een game drive waarin u veel leert over Tanzania\u2019s unieke flora en fauna. Terwijl u aan het nagenieten bent rijdt u naar Mikumi National Park waar u overnacht.<\/p>\n<p>Mikumi National Park grenst aan het noordelijke gedeelte van Selous en ligt tussen Dar es Salaam en Iringa in. De open vlaktes van Mikumi met indrukwekkende panorama\u2019s en de veelvuldige aanwezigheid van wildlife zorgen voor veel overeenkomsten met het bekendere Serengeti. Leeuwen heersen hier over hun grasrijke koninkrijk, waarbij ze tijdens regenachtige dagen te bewonderen zijn in bomen. Full Board.<\/h4>\n<p>Na het ontbijt ontvangt u uw lunchbox en begint uw reis naar Ruaha National Park van ongeveer zes uur.<\/p>\n<p>Ruaha National Park is vernoemd naar zijn levensader: de Great Ruaha River. De flora is hier heel divers, u treft hier meer dan 1650 plantsoorten aan. Met zijn 20.200 km2. is het Tanzania\u2019s grootste National Park en de beste plek om olifanten tegen het lijf te lopen. Het kamp kijkt uit over een waterpoel waar dat tijdens het droge seizoen veelvuldig bezocht wordt door olifanten, buffels en impala\u2019s. Zanzibar is cultureel gezien een vrolijke mix van Afrika en Arabi\u00eb. Noel Coward zong erover in the jaren 30, Dr. Livingstone gebruikte het als uitvalbasis voor zijn expedities en het is tevens de geboorteplaats van Freddy Mercury.
