Lake Naivasha is one of the two freshwater lakes in the Rift Valley. This large shallow lake has a unique history. In the early 20\u2019s Lake Naivasha had dried completely and brought back to life a few years later through heavy rains. While the lake looks beautiful and peaceful during day time, the water at the end of the afternoon triggered by heavy rainfall is usually full of dramatic waves. The lake\u2019s name emphasizes this. The locals, the Maasai, had named the lake Na\u2019iposha, meaning wild waters.
