On arrival at Lusaka International Airport you will be welcomed by our representative who will assist with the border formalities, after which a local flight will follow to Mfuwe in South Luangwa.
Kapani Lodge is situated in a small lagoon of the Luangwa river and is an excellent spot to start your Zambia safari. Norman Carr, former hunter and Zambia’s first conservationist established Kapani, nowadays his children manage the camp. The central location, the excellent facilities, the pool and the private verandas make Kapani an awesome base for game drives, veiws and bush walks.
A game drive with night drive will be your first activity and you will be able to enjoy the night skies and wildlife around.
Day 2 – 4 Nsolo Bushcamp, South Luangwa National Park
After brunch you will be taken to the central part of the park where you check in at the remote Nsolo Bushcamp .
Nsolo only has 4 rooms on raised wooden decks with views onto the Luwi sandriver. You are welcomed by the hosts and guide for the next coming days. Nsolo is an outstanding base for walking safaris for which professional guidance is necessary. From a vehicle you can see the wildlife, but on foot you get to feel, hear and smell Africa! In the next days, you understand what this means.
Day 4 – 6 Kakuli Camp, South Luangwa National Park
After a few days at Nsolo Bushcamp you will walk to the point where the Luwi sandriver coincides with the Luangwa river.
On the river shore Kakuli Camp is built, your home for the coming two nights/days. From Kakuli you will walk and do game drives, there are more roads here and the wildlife is awesome near this part of the park and close to the river.
Day 6 – 8 Mchenja camp, South Luangwa National Park
On the second morning you will walk upstream towards Mchenja Camp, one of the best camps that Luangwa houses. The 5 safari tents that this camp has, are situated under the shadow of massive trees casts. Spotting wildlife in Luangwa is fantastic and the area around Mchenja is no exception. You can either enjoy the area on foot or by vehicle.
Day 8 – 11 Old Mondoro Camp, Lower Zambezi National Park
After 3 days Luangwa it is time to visit the Lower Zambezi National Park and enjoy even more wildlife there.
Old Mondoro lies in the heart of the reserve and offers views onto the chanels of the Zambezi river. Elephants and buffalo are frequent visitors, even in the middle of camp! This area is further known for its lion- and leopard population.
Lower Zambezi is unique due to the various activities that are on offer, next to game drives and walking safaris, one can do canoeing, fishing or see wildlife from a boat.
Day 11 – 13 Tongabezi Camp, Livingstone
The last part of your safari will be situated in Livingstone. Tongabezi Camp lies at only 20 kms from the Victoria Falls. Tongabezi has very special designed chalets at the Zambezi-river, with views on the bush as well as on the river.
During your stay at Tongabezi a visit to the Falls is included, and so are tours to Livingstone, and canoeing on the river. Other activities are helicopter flights over the Falls, bungee jumping, quadbiking, golf and massages.
At Tongabezi you can chose to do activities or simply enjoy the beautiful lodge.
